Joan - Participating in Preflight Stretching Procedures
STORY: Cramp-related accidents continue to plague the fairy community, with incidents on the rise. Thankfully, the campaign to educate fairies about the dangers of flight cramps has been relaunched. Fairies everywhere are now being encouraged to stretch before taking to the skies. While concerns remain high, there’s hope that this initiative will significantly reduce injuries caused by mid-air muscle mishaps.
SPECIFICATION:
Joan wears a tan flight suit with blue detailing. Her stretch best showcases her stomach crinkles of which she has plenty. She sits on a beautifully hand-turned wall base made by the incredibly talented Dave Dalby Woodturning and painted in ‘Frenchic Storm blue’ paint. Each piece is numbered (Joan is #29), signed, and dated on the back of the base. They each come with a typed title mounted onto wood for optional display. Each sculpture has a certificate of authenticity and its own special postcard, featuring a sketchbook page from my original idea development.
DIMENSIONS: 18 cm ( h) 22 cm x 25 cm.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING INFORMATION
We do our best to ensure fairy transit is smooth, direct, and as affordable as possible—but please note that each country has its own import rules and regulations.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:
Most overseas orders are shipped DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid). We use the ‘Sculpture’ shipping code, which generally allows the fairies to travel duty-free. However, depending on your country, you may still be charged VAT, customs duties, or a handling fee. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please only proceed if you're happy to accept this risk.
Before any fairies take flight, we must feel confident in their destination. We require a local telephone number and email address (now mandatory for customs clearance), and we will only post once we’ve been in contact with you. It helps ensure smooth delivery—and reassures the fairies that someone will be there to greet them.
EU BUYERS:
We’re delighted to say the fairies are now fully EU compliant, and European flights have officially resumed!
All UK-to-EU shipments are now subject to VAT and customs fees. Where possible, these are included at checkout (typically: 20% VAT + shipping + a small carrier admin fee).
For example, on a sculpture priced at £1,000, approximately £220 would be added at checkout to cover these charges.
Where we can, we ship DDP (Delivery Duty Paid), as it tends to be more cost-effective (and less stressful) than surprise customs charges on arrival. It’s a little fiddly to arrange—but smoother for you, and better for the fairies.
